Detector Drop/Unrepairable and EOL Coverage
A DR detector is one of the most valuable parts of your X-ray room, and one of the easiest to damage. Our coverage protects your investment if a detector is dropped and cannot be repaired, or reaches end of life and can no longer be serviced, so you are not left paying the full cost of a new detector.
Drop coverage
Wireless detectors are carried between the table, wall stand and patient every day. If a covered detector is accidentally dropped or damaged in normal clinical use, we assess it and repair it where possible.
Unrepairable coverage
If a covered detector is found to be unrepairable, it is replaced with a similar type of detector after the deductible, instead of the full cost of a new detector.
End-of-life (EOL) coverage
When a detector model reaches end of life and the manufacturer no longer supports repairs or parts, a failed covered detector is replaced with a similar, currently supported detector, so your room stays in service.
What is included
- Assessment of the damaged or failed detector by Canon-trained engineers
- Repair where possible, or replacement with a similar type of detector if unrepairable
- Replacement with a similar, currently supported detector when the model is at end of life and cannot be repaired
- Installation, calibration and testing of the replacement detector with your existing X-ray system and imaging software
- Coverage for the detector and term listed on your agreement
Deductible and exclusions
- Deductible: $3,000 per replacement if a covered detector is unrepairable, unless your agreement states otherwise.
- Not covered: loss, theft, intentional damage, and damage from unauthorized repair.

What does detector drop/unrepairable coverage cover?
It covers a DR detector that is accidentally dropped or damaged and found to be unrepairable during the coverage term. The detector is replaced with a similar type of detector after the deductible is paid.
What is end-of-life (EOL) coverage?
When a detector model reaches end of life and the manufacturer no longer supports repairs or parts, a failed covered detector may not be repairable. EOL coverage provides a replacement with a similar, currently supported detector so your room stays in service.
